I've been a storyteller since I was a little kid, acting out scenes from movies in front of my family. More than 20 years later, I'm still telling stories, though now as a writer and editor with more than seven years in the media industry. I love the pace of the news cycle, editing stories with the audience in mind, asking questions, learning quickly and explaining complex topics -- like the U.S. immigration system, for example -- for readers. I'm adept at writing several types of stories, such as quick dailies, explainer pieces, newsletter columns and longer features. When it comes to editing, I have a strong attention to detail and care deeply about accuracy and context.

I'm currently an associate editor at The Hill, mainly editing breaking news stories and working with my team to stay on top of the fire hose that is D.C. politics. Before transitioning to mostly editing, I spent most of my journalism career as a reporter for U.S. News & World Report, writing about a little bit of everything but most often immigration, politics, international news and states' issues. I earned my master's degree in multi-platform journalism at the University of Maryland's Philip Merrill College of Journalism in December 2019 and have written for The Boston Globe Magazine, The Baltimore Sun, the University of Maryland’s Capital News Service and my hometown newspaper, the Virgin Islands Daily News.

In my spare time, you can find me on a hiking trail with my wife, hanging out with my family, running, lifting weights in a boot camp class, playing basketball, occasionally blogging about my beloved-yet-frustrating Cincinnati Reds and following sports -- especially MLB and the NBA.
